Back "home"....

Probably I should start by renaming my blog as Mumbai Vetti Kadhaigal.... Its nearly 2 months since I am back "home". I landed back @ Chennai on the 11 of Sept... and the journey started again. I enjoyed my official vacation for 2 weeks @ home. Then as I started back to Mumbai, I felt as though I was going to go to Mumbai for the first time though I had spent 2 years of my life there and those 2 years are still fresh in my memory because here is where I met A! Well after getting back here I enjoyed an extended vacation @ the expense of TCS as I didn't get any project immediately! I decided to rent a house in Borivali itself as I still like the place like my second home. But somehow this time its different here. Well the sense of being alone is creeping in a bit. That too when I am alone all my memories return and flood my thoughts.... Well thanks to my new project I don't get too much time to be alone @ home. I have to take a bus (oh yeah.... I take the office bus because my project is out of Thane... I am scared to drive in that road @ Night!) to office @ 8 in the morning and I generally return home by 9:30 only... So I don't have much time for thinking alone. I don't know why I am putting all this "being alone stuff" in here now.... but I don't have anything to write here as for now..... I guess its enough of it now... Will be back soon..... hopefully...

Going down the memory lane...

Today i saw a post in Kay Gee's blog telling about his lil bro..... reading that, a train of events started to pass thru my mind.... its more than 7 eyears now that I have left school...but most of the things that happened there seems to have happened just now.... those days when myself and my bro travelled with Appa to school in that TVS XT, rushing home in the evening to attend paatu class (where i used to be scared to death to even open my mouth alone, and used to insist that i will sing along with Balaji only), the way Balaji and Amma really tried hard to make me believe that can also achieve something when all chips used to be down for me....the days when both me and Balaji used to ride our cycles as if we were on a F1 track.... ofcourse some of my mother's friends' would have seen it and report it promptly to her :).. wherever I am.... its those days that has made me what I am now....

Project Launch....

Last month our project went live..... and I noticed certain things that I feel is common to all the projects.......

• When there is enough time and when the bugs have not yet been reported, you feel that you did the best coding. The code is wonderul and it will be a great launch for you.
• When QA starts looking deeply and come up with more scenarios and as the bugs start showing up, "what can I do? with the given constraints, this is what I could have done." ; " the design ws not finalised till the end"; "SRS was not proper"; blah, blah, blah....
• When its almost launch time... say one week before.... " Oh... wish I had taken it more seriously during coding and done it well"; " QA is bringing in too many new scenarios that they didnt tell during design".....
• Two days before launch, " Well, Given the time frame, I think we can prioritize on what needs to be fixed now and what can be done after the launch...."
• Just a day before the launch...., "hope it works by some miracle....."
• The day after launch...., " thank goodness, its over now.... not much of a problem"... er still I have those other things to fix... but who cares, now the project is launched.... lets see later....
• One week after launch, " The project is live and everything is fine, there will be a cleanup project... they will fix the remaining issues"

Well... I guess everybody would have faced it at some point...!!!
